Did you know that the Ruston Farmers Market accepts snap/ebt?
Thanks to a grant from the Lincoln Health Foundation, Ruston Farmers Market is able to double your tokens up to $10 per market day. So if you plan to spend $20 at the market, your card will only be debited $10! Or said another way, if you ask for $10 to be withdrawn from your card, you'll be given $20-worth of wooden tokens.
Once Double Bucks funds are exhausted, we will return to our regular Louisiana Purchase card acceptance program.
Please use the code "SNAP" during checkout.
The code will reduce your order to zero. We will then swipe your EBT card when you pick up your order on Tuesday. If you do not bring your EBT card on Tuesday, we cannot allow you to pick up your groceries. Any extra funds needed after your SNAP funds are used will need to be paid using a credit card or cash.
Using your Louisiana Purchase EBT card at Ruston Farmers Market is easy!
First, take a look at what all the vendors have to offer, noting how much you would like to spend.
Come to the Welcome Booth with your card and tell the friendly volunteer how much you would like to withdraw from your card. Your card will be swiped for that amount of money, you will enter your PIN on the machine, and you'll be given $1 wooden tokens in that amount.
Use the tokens as you would cash, but they can only be used for eligible items.
If you don't spend all your tokens, just come back to the Welcome Booth with your unused tokens and we will refund that amount to your card.
Items eligible for purchase with your card include fresh produce, eggs, dairy products, jams, honey, meats, baked goods to be taken home (not eaten on-premise), seeds, and plants intended for growing food. Tokens will not be accepted for non-food items, ready-to-eat foods, hot foods, pet foods, or any plants or seeds of non-food plants.
But wait, there's more! We have a program designed to make your dollars stretch further. And a program to inspire your cooking!
